Lunsar is a City in Marampa Chiefdom. It's the largest town in Port Loko District by people. The Britannica estimate of Lunsar's population is 36,108 [2]. The town is one of the main business and commercial hub in the North of Sierra Leone.

Lunsar lies approximately 18 miles and approximately 50 miles east of Freetown north south of the district capital of Port Loko [3]. The people of Lunsar are largely from the Temne cultural group.
