Poznań Poznań (UK: POZ-nan, US: POHZ-nan, POHZ-nahn, Polish: [ˈpɔznaj̃] or [ˈpɔznaɲ]; German: Posen; understood also by other historic titles ) is a town in the Warta River at west-central Poland, in the Greater Poland region and will be the fifth-largest town in Poland.

It is famous for Ostrów Tumski Cathedral and its renaissance Old Town. Now, Poznań is a significant cultural and business center and among Poland's most populous areas with many regional traditions including Saint John's Fair (Jarmark Świętojański), conventional Saint Martin's croissants and a local dialect.
