Kloulklubed

Brief information about the Kloulklubed

Kloulklubed is the most important settlement on the Palau island of Peleliu. It's situated at the island's end, close to North shore. The village was a centre of operations during World War II, and the remains of the communications centre is still standing at town.

A monument to the Battle of Peleliu is found in the village. The other feature of kloulklubed is that the gravesites of Palau president and Chief Justice, Haruo Remeliik and Mamoru Nakamura. While Nakamura died in 1992 of a heart attack remeliik was assassinated in 1985.

Both were natives of Peleliu, and their graves are located near the Governor's office.
