Brief information about the Ségou

The city is the Ségou Circle along with the Ségou Region's capital. It is the fifth-largest city in Mali. The village of Ségou-Koro, 10 km (6.2 mi) upstream of the current town, was established from the 17th century and became the capital of the Bambara Empire.
