Brief information about the Delhi

Delhi Delhi (English: Hindi: [ˈdɪlːi] Dillī; Punjabi: [ˈdɪlːi] Dillī; Urdu: [ˈdeɦli] Dēhlī), formally the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT), is a town and a union territory of India comprising New Delhi, the capital of India. It's bordered by the state of Haryana on three sides and by Uttar Pradesh to the east.

According to the 2011 census, Delhi's city proper population was more than 11 million, the second-highest in India after Mumbai, although the whole NCT's inhabitants was about 16.8 million. Delhi's metropolitan region is currently considered to extend beyond the NCT borders, and include the neighbouring satellite towns of Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Noida in an area now known as the National Capital Region (NCR) and had an estimated 2016 population of over 26 million people, making it the world's second-largest metropolitan area according to the United Nations.

As of 2016, recent quotes of the metro market of its urban area have rated Delhi either the most or second-most productive metro area of India. Delhi is your second-wealthiest town after Mumbai in India and is home to 18 billionaires and 23,000 millionaires.

Delhi ranks fifth among the states and union territories in the human development index. What's more, it's considered one of the most polluted cities of the planet by particulate matter concentration. Delhi has been continuously occupied since the 6th century BCE.

Through most of its history, Delhi has functioned as a capital of empires and various kingdoms, most notably the Mughal Empire and the Delhi Sultanate. The town was seized, ransacked and rebuilt several times during the period, and Delhi is a bunch of a number of towns spread across the region.
