Brief information about the Siem Reap
Siem Reap Siem Reap (Khmer: ក្រុងសៀមរាប, pronounced [siəm riəp]) is the capital city of Siem Reap Province in northwestern Cambodia. Siem Reap has colonial and Chinese-style architecture from the Old Quarter and around the Market.
In the city, you will find museums, traditional Apsara dance performances, a Cambodian cultural village, souvenir and handicraft stores, silk farms, rice paddies from the countryside, fishing villages and a bird sanctuary near the Tonle Sap Lake, and an energetic, cosmopolitan drinking and dining scene.
Siem Reap now --being a tourist destination--contains several hotels, resorts, restaurants, and businesses associated with tourism. This is owed to the Angkor temples, the most popular tourist attraction to its proximity.
