Hrazdan (Armenian: Հրազդան), is a city and metropolitan municipal community in Armenia serving as the administrative center of Kotayk Province, situated 45 kilometres (28 miles) northeast of the capital Yerevan. As of the 2011 census, the population of the town is 41,875.
Since the 1989 census reported 59,000 individuals, it has lost a substantial number of inhabitants. Hrazdan was one of the Armenian SSR's very industrialized centres. The prelacy of Kotayk of the Armenian Apostolic Church's Diocese is headquartered in Hrazdan.
